Akai launches 56 DLP Projection Television
APH USA, Inc. announces the launch of its latest entry into the digital convergence consumer electronics market with the introduction of the Akai PT56DL20 56 DLP Projection Television.
Santa Monica, CA January 26, 2004--APH USA, Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of its latest entry into the digital convergence consumer electronics market with the introduction of the Akai PT56DL20 56 DLP Projection Television. The PT56DL20 marks the first DLP projection television introduced into the United States by Akai, who has launched several Akai digital and plasma products into the market within the past six months. The unit is scheduled to arrive at selected retailers in July 2004, and will be positioned as a breakthrough retail value in keeping with Akais positioning statement Akai will bring new and advanced technology to a broader consumer audience.
DLP technology is a revolutionary display solution that uses an optical semiconductor to manipulate light digitally. It's also a proven and dependable technology preferred by leading electronics companies worldwide, with more than 2 million systems shipped to more than 50 manufacturers since 1996. The Akai PT56DL20 is a 56 16:9 widescreen format DLP projection television. It features high 1500:1 contrast and 600 brightness for exceptional depth and clarity. The stereo system features four separate channels, and an integrated 60 watt stereo amplifier. The sleek design console model is only 16 inches deep, with a cosmetic matching entertainment stand available as an optional accessory with a $499 MSRP. Viewing options include dual tuner picture-in-picture, split screen, and picture-outside-picture. Video standards include 480p, 540p, 576p, 720p & 1080i.
